A Wedding Vow Renewal: Dawn & Skip

This post is dedicated to a dear friend who I admire & adore.

If you go looking for a friend, you’re going to find they’re very scarce.

If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhere.

- Zig Ziglar

Friendship makes life so rich. I feel very blessed to have made true friends that share my creative passion for photography.  We share this common bond & slight obsession for documenting life artistically. We share knowledge, we support & nurture one another through the highs and lows of chasing dreams & running businesses, and spend a lot of time simply laughing together.

To my talented friend, Dawn V. Gilmore, you inspire me with your art & your drive. You have a genuine love for your clients & their love stories. Watching you relive yours as you & Skip renewed your vows on your tenth wedding anniversary really warmed my heart. I hope you enjoy seeing a couple of those stolen moments that you are so well known for capturing.

This time, my friend, they are yours to keep.

Dawn, the little ones in your family are so precious!

They were so good & waited so patiently…

From tiny & squishy to freckled & sweet, your family is so blessed with laughter.

The lovely & talented Ms. Jo’ah May made Dawn’s eyes so pearly & green.

We were in awe!! Our girl looked so G-L-A-M!!

This smile is so tell-tale of your friendship with Jo’ah.

I think this may have been an impersonation of a makeup artist taking their work too seriously.

Jo’ah, I love your relaxed & bohemian spirit!

Dawn, meeting your mom tells me so much. She’s a jazzy sassy girl just like you!

Vows were renewed amongst a small group of family & friends gathered in a beautiful suite at the oceanside

Hutchinson Island Courtyard Marriott . I was so honored to be an invited guest.

Dawn, I  L-O-V-E the look on Skip’s face in this next photo. Love.

Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.”

Yum-Yum!

Butter rum wedding cake by A Piece of Cake. Finally what all the kiddos were waiting for!

Having photographer friends is the best! Rachel Boland Perez, I love you girl!! You had Dawn squealing…

“THIS is what my brides feel like!!”  I guess we should put ourselves on the other side of the camera more often!

I really enjoy being a part of an industry whose sole purpose is to celebrate love. The behind-the-scenes isn’t always glamourous or poetic & well, we all work very, very hard to give our clients an experience. It was so wonderful to see all of these vendors come together &  design something so special for one of our own.

Dawn, I’ve seen your face light up when you capture a timeless moment for one of your brides. I’ve watched your eyes glitter when you deliver a wedding album to a couple. I know how much you truly love what you do.  It’s my hope that while reading this post, you will feel the same warmth that your clients always experience while reliving their story through your artistry.

I am blessed and honored to call you my friend. And I look forward to continued learning & growing together as photographers, as artists & most simply as friends.

With love, admiration & a big warm hug,

P.S. Just WAIT until you see Dawn’s trash the dress session shot by our precious Rachel Boland Perez of  Moments to Milestones Photography. Here’s a sneak peak of what I saw!

A Sweet Miami Wedding: Amber & Billy

Royal purple heels

& deep colored roses.

Amber & Billy are married.

Twig inspired chandeliers hung over Amber & Billy’s adorable vintage rhinestone brooch wedding cake at the Keys Gate Country Club.

Sophisticated touches of royal purple.

I must say that Amber’s rings deserved a little special attention…So pretty!

I love romantic black & white photos of backlit ceremonies.

A simply powerful message graced the reception.

Live Well. Love Much… Laugh Often.

Amber & Billy, thank you so much for inviting me to tell your story. I wish you a life of laughter & love!

With love, admiration & a big warm hug,

Cilea Eyelash Photoshoot

I had the honor of working with BRAVO’s Real Housewife of Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson!!  Here’s a sneak peak from behind-the-scenes of her lifestyle photo shoot for Cilea, an all-natural eyelash growth product she’s fallen in love with.

Dedicated to a fabulous life full of family, success & confidence, Vicki made my first celebrity experience an absolute pleasure. She’s beyond sweet, gracious & has a smile that can warm any room.

Boca Magazine interviewed Vicki about

Real life,

Life as a Real Housewife in the O.C.

AND  Cilea!

Olivia Smalley of OMG Artistry gets Vicki ready for her interview & photo shoot.

I’m so excited to be using Cilea myself now. Can’t wait to see what it does for my lashes!!

With Warmth & Thanks,

P.S. Vicki, your eyelashes AND your dimples are out of this world!  :)

Wedding Style: Timeless is the New Modern

The heart’s rendition of a moment is timeless, lived in a flash and held tightly forever.

time . less

-adjective

1. without beginning or end; eternal; everlasting.

2. referring or restricted to no particular time: the timeless beauty of great music.

Timeless is…

A diamond ring. Grace Kelly. A silk scarf.

A box wrapped with a bow.  Ice cream cones.

A first kiss on a summer day. Smiling nose to nose.

Timeless is closing your eyes and remembering the feeling of it’s currents racing past your tummy to your toes…and back.

These images were created at the Historic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, FL during the fabulous MIM workshop.

An admirer of all things classic & timeless,

Once Upon a Tea Party

We met by happenstance. A girl with a camera & an affinity for vintage classic goodness. A party planner who loves the essence of make believe & her exquisite collection of china.

Once Upon a Tea Party specializes in boutique themed tea parties. In a world of children with ipads & iphones, Liz Hancock is a keeper of classic childhood experiences. Her collection of gowns, tiaras, china & sweetness envelope everything that is timeless about being a little girl. Her company travels from home to home bringing tea inspired playtime to her wee hostesses & their small guests.

Miss R’s  tea party really touched my heart.  The children played dress up, listened to princess music & made arts & crafts at the table together.  As a creative, I believe very much in nurturing the make-believe spirit of children. Their limitless sense of imagination is such a beautiful thing.  And on this day each little girl truly was a Princess for a Day.

Since meeting Liz at Ms R’s darling princess party we have  become good friends as business owners & creatives.  I’m currently working on recreating her web presence with a new brand & we are almost ready to launch her new website!  I hope that you will help me welcome her by joining her Facebook fan page.  If these images or her story touched you, please share a  link on Facebook so that parents within your circle of friends may learn about Once Upon a Tea Party & the lovely experience it provides for children. And if you do so, please be sure to tag us so we can personally say thank you.

With love, admiration & a big warm hug,
